Well, all good things have to come to an end I suppose. We had 3 wonderful months on the road and saw and did some amazing things. I must say that of all the places I’ve been … Canada in general and British Columbia in particular is by far the best. We have everything here … mountains … ocean … desert … lakes that take your breath away … wildlife … flowers and plants that make jewels feel inadequate. I’m so glad I got to see the rest of the province! After living in B.C. for close to 30 years it was about time!
So now we’re back home in Victoria. Not too shabby a place either! In fact it’s tourist season here now, with endless RV’s, cruise ships and everything in between flocking here to witness our beauty. I’m happy they get to experience it … but it does make things difficult when you’re trying to find a parking spot downtown! Even last night as we went to a movie at the IMAX … parking spots were hard to come by at 7:30 pm. Another month tho and things will get back to ‘normal’.
We’re back in our home base of West Bay RV and Marine Park. Our new spot is backing onto the little
bay and we actually have a patch of grass to sit on while we sip our evening wine. Lots to watch as kayakers, boaters, herons, seals and otters go by. With the influx of so many tourists tho things are a bit tight in here right now. The spaces here were (I’m sure) measured out before the advent of so many GIANT rigs with multiple slides – so it can be a bit hairy at times.
We’ve at least got a bit of room next to our 5th wheel where we can park our vehicles so that’s a bonus. Fortunately we’ve got 2 large Class A’s parked on either side with great people … I don’t know how long they’ll be here but being this close to your neighbors … it’s good to have people you like and respect!
What now? I’m trying to start up a professional organizer business and I’ll be taking a course in nutrition this fall as well. Bruce is trying to get an on-line business going so he’s full on doing that. In between times we have some good walks and good times catching up with friends.
Next trip? Hmmmm. At first we thought we’d head south again in the new year … but we’re now seriously contemplating heading to Europe – possibly Italy – in the fall of 2015. Maybe both? Depends on our businesses and what we can afford!
Thanks for following our adventures … hope you’re having some good ones of your own!
Till next time … Cheers from Bruce & Linda
