Bates Beach RV Park is located right on the ocean just outside of Courtenay/Comox, BC.

It’s a smallish park with spots directly on the oceanfront … but in the summer we found most of the first part was filled with big rigs that looked to be there for the season … and the rest of those ocean-front sites were suitable only for smaller campers and tents.

The middle row in the park is where we ended up.  The spots are wide but fairly shallow … our 28′ Class C only just fit but our towed car fit nicely beside.  These spots are all on pavement but have a grassy area behind for your table and chairs.  If you look between those big rigs on the water you almost have a view!

The park is spotless and there are people cleaning up constantly.  Unfortunately the washrooms, while also spotless, have no soap dispensers and the one stall in the ladies room had NO toilet paper.  Hard to believe with the GIANT TP holder that would fit 2 large rolls!  Oh well!

The rates are good and the wifi works well.  Quiet … nice beach walking close by and also the Seal Bay Nature Park is close by for hiking.
