The Fat Mermaid in Valdez, Alaska
Great location across from the harbor. They have a small patio which lets you take in the views all around this beautiful town!
The menu was smaller than I’d hoped – with mostly appies, sandwich-type things and pizza. But they serve good local Alaska brands of beer so with mugs of the frosty brews we opted for an appie of calamari – which was tender, hot and plentiful and served with a good dip. Then for the main we split a smoked salmon pizza which was really good! Nice crisp crust and lots of tasty toppings. All looking out over a lovely boat-filled harbor and mountains all around. Very nice. And a short walk from our RV park which helped!
