For a fabulous meal or coffee/tea and snacks, do yourself a favour and stop at Veronica’s.
Right next to the Russian Church in Kenai City … easy to find if you’re on a walking tour of the historic district. Or park in their large parking lot!
A very funky old building with loads of art and glass fishing balls hanging from the ceiling in their comfortable porch area.
The staff are super friendly and the food … oh the food! We opted for a cup of their soup of the day which was a tomato basil, and came with a bowl of pasta salad and a chunk of cornbread. The soup was delicious and fresh and the cornbread was to die for! It was made with molasses … something I’d never encountered before but will definitely look up to see if I can find a recipe that includes it! Bruce got the Ayla Wrap which had roast beef, cheese, tomato, onion with a chipotle mayo. HUGE and so good! It came with the pasta salad as well … amazingly good!
We didn’t have dessert, but they all sounded (and looked) delicious!
Prices are ‘normal’ for small town Alaska and this place is well worth it! There is limited seating outside as well as the interior and the patio.
